I've been dodging medical bullets of late. So far I have managed to stay diabetes free, despite it running in my family (maternal side). I take blood pressure medication because my dad died of a stroke. (Fortunately, my blood pressure is only just over the limit.)
Back in September/October there was a brief moment of panic when I had a breast biopsy. It turned out to be benign and a normal part of the aging process.
The latest bullet is a bit scarier. While I was in the hospital with pancreatitis last week, (probably caused by medication), they did a number of scans of my abdomen. One of the scans caught the edge of a 2cm nodule on my right lung.
I had a CT scan of my chest today. Now we wait.
I was hoping that you'd use this blog to supply a bit more information than what you've been putting into facebook. I almost called you to ask... so I'm glad you wrote about it.
'Caught the edge' implies that the discovery was accidental. The fact that the item they caught is 2cm, says the discovery is most fortuitous, because if it *is* something then it is large enough that it needs to be addressed *now*. Thank God for the pancreitis in that case (I know, a really odd thing to say).
Please keep us informed about progress on this. You'll be in our thoughts and prayers for a quick and positive resolution to this issue.

And obviously, if there's *anything* we can do to help, even if it is only to keep Steve entertained while you straighten out the doctors, please let us know.

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.
Yes, in this case, the pancreatitis was a good thing.
I posted here specifically because I have a general idea of who reads this and I wanted to let those people in on the details. Further info will be posted here as well. Steve's holding up OK, for now, though I wish he didn't have to go through this.

Oh, well first we don't know that anything is wrong yet. And second, if you need a tune-up and lube (100,000 mile checkup), then you know Steve is going to be your rock. He's going to let you lean on him because that's what a husband does. And as for wishing he didn't have to go through this, it's a fine sentiment, but I'll bet there's no other place he'd rather be.
And if circumstances are such that Steve needs to lean on someone, that's what good friends are for. Dontcha worry, we'll keep him propped up!
So don't worry about Steve, or us. You just make sure you get well quickly.

I've told Anne that when I married her I signed up for us being together through when our bodies fell apart. The timing may not be what I had anticipated; but being with her through this kind of stuff was definitely part of what I committed to.
