I saw my doctor today. The CT scan showed a 3.8 cm "nonspecific" area in the lower lobe of my right lung. This could be pneumonia, TB, or cancer. I've been referred to a specialist and hope to have an appointment in the next week or so.
(If it really was originally 2 cm and is now 3.8 cm, that is good news rather than bad. Since we don't know for sure, more testing will follow.)
Steve and I are both doing OK right now. We've been talking about the situation and adjusting our priorities and future plans - whatever the outcome of this might be.
There's about a dozen things this could be. No sense in getting wrapped up about any one particular diagnosis.
Going to a specialist is a good next choice, though I would try to shorten the time as much as possible because some of the diagnoses require treatment sooner rather than later and the quicker visit means quicker resolution.
Pneumonia is an interesting thought that hadn't occurred to me...

TB is out. The test is negative - for which I am glad.
At present, I am not panicking or anything of the sort. Just a healthy dose of realism that my body isn't as it once was, nor how it will be.
Our plans have consisted of making a list of the places we want to visit, how much knitting I can reasonably expect to do over the next 5-10 years (why am I hanging on to all this yarn), that sort of thing.
BTW - Chicago, London, Mediterranean cruise, Alaska are top of our list. (4 sweaters, 3 shawls/wraps, 1 scarf - so far- how much can I wear and/or store?)

Chicago never impressed me (sorry), London is too darn large. We've always wanted to go to Alaska but I dislike cold and so we haven't. This year's Vancuver trip is sort of a baby step in that direction. If it works, well maybe we can do some sort of joint trip up there next summer? I'm told a small boat that can get in and out of the 'fjords' is the best way to see lower Alaska.
The Mediterranean cruise is something that's been on our list for a long while, but I suspect it'll never get done. We're too much 'go there, do that' at our own pace and Europe just has too many nooks and crannies we want to explore.
Glad the TB is out.

Chicago (or at least the burbs) is where I grew up, so that's why it's on the list. Lots of public art & architecture, as well as a few friends and relations. London should really read UK...as we would like to go to Scotland and Wales (again) as well.
